As this pandemic begins to slow down, and B.C. is slowly reopening; a lot has changed, and honestly, we don’t know what the new “normal” will look like. The world before COVID-19 felt healthy and safer, we all had our routines but now there’s a new level of health and safety protocols to follow, in fact, the health and safety of our citizens have been amplified to a new level. While this is not a bad thing, it will take some time for everyone to get used to, along with understanding the importance of this.
So, we discuss some ways it will change when coming to cleaning.
1. Weekly Deep Cleaning vs Monthly
What is the difference between weekly and monthly deep cleaning? Weekly cleaning includes the flooring getting vacuumed and mopped, dusting is done throughout the office, the kitchen is sanitized, and windows and surfaces are cleaned. Monthly deep cleaning includes the weekly items along with additionally wiping the baseboards, vents, walls, ceilings.
Moving forward, it will be important to do both deep cleans weekly and monthly. Weekly deep cleaning will benefit you, your family and employees as there will be a reduced amount of dust, bacteria, and irritations floating around, plus, this will be providing them with cleaner air more often.
2. Cleaning High Touchpoint Areas Daily
This is a very important point and one that often gets overlooked. Moving forward it will be crucial that all high touchpoint areas (such as door knobs and handles) get cleaned and disinfected daily! Why? To kill any bacterias and germs that may be lingering. This will also help kill any illnesses that may be lingering on surfaces. Now that we are starting to go out a bit more, it's important to keep disinfecting our hands, shoes and all elements that we will be bringing home. Ideally in the hallway. 3. Using Green Products to clean
Cleaning products have never been more important. It’s great that everyone wants to use the best product, but it’s equally as important to ensure the product you’re using is clean in ingredients, healthy for the environment and for those that are breathing it in. We believe in clean ingredients being healthier for everyone.
We use only environmentally-safe products to ensure the health and safety of your family, customers and or employers.
4. Waste and Recycling
To us, this is a very important tip, not only because we should all be doing our part to help and protect our environment, but also to help prevent spread and protect our waste collection staff, dispose of all the following in the garbage in plastic garbage bags:
